The deepest gorge in Chania is the gorge of Aradaina. The 138 meter deep gorge is ideal not only for sightseeing or hiking but for bunjee jumping as well. The trekking inside the canyon till the exit on the majestic Marmara beach is an unforgettable experience for those who attempt the descent of the canyon.

The gorge of Aradena is located in the region of Sfakia. It runs from the southern slopes of the White Mountains and forms a deep cut to the small beach of Marmara (a little to the West of Loutro).

Similar to the famous Samaria gorge, only smaller and easier to cross. At the end of the gorge there is one of the most beautiful white stone beaches of Crete, called Marmara. Greek Mythology says Apollo used to take his bath there. Near by is the picturesque village of Loutro from where you will take the boat to return to Chora Sfakion.
