Its the first capital of Spain and is just 40min away from Madrid by train. If you have more than 4 days here, maybe you would like to spend a afternoon there.

The old ancient capital located in the Tagus river is a must. Get away from the crowds and meander through quiet little streets, as good as any in Tuscany. El Greco came here in 1577 and didn't leave.

An Old small city just near Madrid, It is about 45min by car or train. You can rent a car or buy a tour in Madrid(Sol).

Gorgeous medival town with layers and layers of history. Great walks, views food, history. About an hour away by car.
