Lovely local park with mature trees and park benches a couple of minutes walk from the flat. The pitch and putt golf course (club hire from the Golf Tavern) is a reminder that this was one of the earliest places that golf was played in the Edinburgh area. Barbecue areas also available.

Pitch and put golfing. Take a club and a ball and just play, or you can hire very cheaply from the Golf Tavern.

Adjoining The Meadows park to the South-West, the Bruntsfield Links is one the earlist places where golf is known to have been played and some says this is where many of the game's rules were established. Today the slightly undulating, carefully kept park still has a series of golf holes (no flags) where anyone can go to practise their putting (free, open park).
