b. patisserie

Upon entering the bakery, you'll notice the magical sweet smell of caramelized sugar. There's no such thing as a bad choice at b. patisserie, but my favorite is their signature kouign amann, which resembles an airy croissant except it's lightly sweet, crispy outside, and soft with a sugary center inside. One isn't enough, a full box is necessary. To avoid a long line, the best times to visit are Wednesdays and Fridays, 2pm to 3pm. Tip: Look out for their bags of kouign amann near the cash register; it goes great with a cup of coffee or with a scoop of ice cream.
