We'll cook with oil produced from our olive trees and with vegetables grown in our garden. We'll savor that we cooked during the lesson , sipping red wine produced by a local farmer. You will be immersed in a wonderful atmosphere, in an 18th century Villa on a charming hill in Val di Chiana. Surrounded by woodland where you can see squirrel, hares and deer. Wine Tasting | A glass of Tuscany
Visit of the new winery of Via della Stella, including a wine tasting. We will have a nice walk through the olive grove and the vegetable garden, accompanied by Chiara or a collegue. We will then take you to the new cellar where you will feel the place where our wines come to life. The modernity of the equipment combined with the charm of the old farmhouse make it a unique and authentic experience. Followed by the tasting of wines and a small tasting of typical products of our land.
Discovering truffles
Be prepared to enjoy your day in a green and peaceful place, away from the city chaos. You’ll be able to watch a truffle dog at work in harmony with nature. It will be a delightful surprise to see how much satisfaction our faithful friends can give us! During the journey, I will tell you everything about truffles and I will be happy to answer at any of your questions. By the end of the hike, I will bring you to a typical farmhouse where you will be able to taste delicious dishes based on truffles and not only that! The menu includes: - Appetizer with salami, cheeses, jams, seasonal vegetables and bruschetta with truffles. - Homemade pasta with fresh truffle. - Eggs with truffles, seasonal vegetables, wild boar. - Dessert. - Free water and wine. - Coffee and bitter. We also have menus for vegetarians, celiacs and vegans. The meeting point is the farm "Aia del Tufo" which is a 50 minute drive from Orvieto, in the Tuscan Maremma. Join my rides
Unlike "Hit the valleys", this idea is more on riding and sightseeing our gorgeous areas. Guests will join my usual horseback rides to the familiar places the horses know very well; however, prior experience is necessary. I have selected 3 of my usual best rides of different difficulty levels. 1)' The Montefalco valley ring' is a peaceful ride in the valley which the stable overlooks. After leaving the barn, we will ride through country roads and wine yards. It is a 90-minute ride totally in the green, passing by two-three famous wine houses in the area. 2) 'The Casale ride' implies riding uphill and reaching Casale's tiny village where the horses enjoy freshwater. It is a 120-minute ride on all country roads, with two asphalt roads to cross, and requires more skills than the previous. 3) The Sanctuary is the most intense ride instead, advisable for very skilled and experienced guests. We will primarily be trotting on Bevagna's hills crest. After leaving the barn, we will also have to be on one asphalt road (open to local traffic). Horses will have to get uphill the crest of the surrounding hills. Getting to the Sanctuary and enjoy the silence and the view is really worth it. Riding time is about 150 minutes. NOTE: Newbies or riders with little experience will ride in the arena to learn/consolidate the communication with horses and their riding skills, and posture.
Degustazione e tour in Cantina
Cominceremo il nostro percorso di degustazione con la visita della cantina del 1300 scavata nel tufo. Qui vi racconterò un po' come veniva utilizzata questa grotta in passato. Dopo la visita sotterranea torneremo su e ci siederemo ai tavoli vista Duomo, se il meteo non lo dovesse permettere la degustazione sarà all'interno, inizieremo ad assaggiare prodotti tipici della norcineria Orvietana come porchetta, salsicce secche e prosciutto ed anche dei formaggi con varie stagionature; il tutto verrà abbinato ai vini della nostra città sia bianco che rosso. Poi come da tradizione finiremo con il vino santo con i tozzetti alle mandorle e nocciole. Alpaca del Castello - Passeggiate
Una volta arrivati nella fattoria poco distante dal Castello di Crocicchio, immersa nel verde delle colline umbre, vi verranno presentati i nostri simpatici Alpaca. Dopo avervi mostrato la loro "casa" e il contesto in cui vivono, sarete proprio voi i protagonisti dell’esperienza, sarà vostro compito infatti prepararli per la passeggiata che ci aspetterà, spazzolandoli e mettendo loro la cavezza. Questo vi permetterà di conoscere tutte le sfaccettature del loro carattere e di entrarci sin da subito in sintonia: capirete che sono facili da gestire e per questo adatti ad ogni tipo di età. A questo punto saremo pronti per addentrarci tra emozionanti, quanto agevoli sentieri avvolti dalla natura incontaminata. Durante il percorso, dalla durata di 45 minuti, vi racconteremo la storia, le caratteristiche e tutti gli aneddoti e le curiosità riguardanti questi curiosi animali. A metà percorso apparirà di fronte a voi un luminoso laghetto i cui colori verranno esaltati dal paesaggio che lo circonda. Il percorso si presterà a foto che sapranno valorizzare l'esperienza che state vivendo con i nostri Alpaca. Da qui ripartiremo per tornare al loro rifugio vicino al Castello dove avverrà la sistemazione degli animali. Daremo loro fieno ed acqua, sistemeremo il ricovero se necessario e ci saluteremo, sperando che questa esperienza sia stata per voi esaltante!
Ride in the Natural way
When it comes to horses, the world of humans parts in two, those who just want to ride them and those instead who want to understand them to better love them, communicate with them and lead them. If you are in the second kind of people, you will love this experience. "Hit the valleys" gives you a unique chance to take your first step in the world of "horse-man-ship". You will establish sincere and trustworthy communication with these fantastic animals according to the Pat Parelli natural approach training principles in which my horses have been educated. You will meet me at the stables, get to know my equine family, help me saddle the horses up and move to the arena to get the feel with the horse which will be assigned to you. In this phase (1 hour), you will be exposed to the basics of the Parelli natural approach, and you will have to work with the horse on the ground and do what you will have seen doing with mine. The second phase (1 hour) is when you mount the horse, adjust your posture, balance, learn the concept of pressure, and realize how well you can apply the previous instruction. Time to go then to ... naturally hit the valleys. We will saddle the horses off on our way back, take good care of them as they have done with us, and feed them. Finally, we will relax on rocking chairs, enjoying a beer and our horse chats :-)
Slow Food- Dalla Vigna alla Vinsantaia
Al vostro arrivo verrete accolti in azienda da Chiara che, durante una passeggiata che vi guiderà alle vigne, comincerà a parlarvi di come nasce questo prodotto, il Vinosanto da uve affumicate dell’Alta Valle del Tevere, Presidio Slow Food. Verrete avvolti dal verde delle campagne umbre, in una passeggiata che si snoderà fra tre diversi vigneti… Rientrando in azienda l'esperienza proseguirà nella Vinsantaia, luogo dove il tempo non esiste e la tradizione continua… qui, ogni anno, ad Ottobre le uve vengono appese con delle coppiole di cotone al soffitto e spremute a fine Febbraio. Giorni dopo, il mosto ricavato viene messo “a dimora” in caratelli di rovere dove ”incontra” la Madre, che rende il Vinosanto – prodotto da ogni famiglia - unico ed inconfondibile. Il mosto resterà nei caratelli per un minimo di 10 anni e, alla fine, si otterrà un nettare ambrato dal caratteristico sentore di affumicato. E la degustazione? Lasciatevi stupire da un insolito abbinamento: Vinosanto ed Erborinati! Quest’esperienza vi farà conoscere non solo il Vinosanto – che oggi grazie a Slow Food ed al suo riconoscimento a Presidio è diventato catalizzatore di interesse e curiosità da ogni parte del mondo - ma anche della tradizione culturale, rurale ed enogastronomica dell'Alta Valle del Tevere. Tour delle aziende di Norcia
Prima di tutto ci incontreremo e ci presenteremo! A me piace scoprire chi sono le persone che visitano il territorio! Faremo un breve giro della città, vi indicherò i punti più interessanti e alcuni dettagli di ciò che c'era in passato. Se per voi non è un problema andremo in piazza San Benedetto e faremo una diretta "social" da condividere poi con i vostri amici, la comunicazione è importantissima! Nel tuoi visiteremo un'azienda agricola, un caseificio e una norcineria. Ogni azienda ci ospiterà per farci vedere come produce e gestisce la sua azienda. In base alla stagione guarderemo anche la produzione e gli animali presenti. Norcia è la città originale della NORCINERIA, lo sapevi? Quindi non potrai rifiutarti di assaggiare qualche salamino o qualche salsiccia! Ma durante la visita scoprirai che Norcia vuol dire anche altro e alla fine ci sarà anche una birra realizzata a Norcia (o se preferisci un'altra bevanda) In OGNI SOSTA E' PREVISTA UNA DEGUSTAZIONE (il caseificio, azienda agricola, norcineria). TUTTO INCLUSO NEL COSTO, altre degustazioni sono a pagamento extra. Altre cose da tenere a mente La tempistica del tour è stimata in circa 3 ore se verrai con una tua bici oppure 5 ore se la facciamo completamente a piedi. Lake Experience - Day Trip in canoe or paddle to the island
If you want to consider doing something sportive with your family, kids, friends or group, you can opt for our guided canoe or paddle tour of Lake Trasimeno, and combine it with a guided hike of its small island named Isola Maggiore. We will depart from Tuoro Beach and cross the lake in a 60-90 minutes trip in canoe or paddle board. Embarked we will leave the equipment in the little harbour and will follow the narrow path to entirely walk around the small island. After the walk we will enjoy an aperitif and some slow food and will return to the shore. Depending on your speed and needs, from shore to shore the experience will take 3,5 up to 4 hours. It's a possibility to enjoy the lake and its beautiful surroundings to the fullest, and really see it from the 'inside', guided by people that were born and raised with 'il lago'. A boat is available to transport people that can't make the physical effort, and the guide is a certified lifeguard. The island contains several points of interest, perfectly positioned to be visited on foot. It is possible to discover the ruins of the mill, the church of San Michele, the main landing place with the statue of S. Francesco, the lace museum, the fisherman's house and much more. Wine and Food Experience
Get ready for a memorable Wine and Food experience! It is a true Italian wine experience with a sommelier. A must do in Montepulciano and great fun for wine lovers of all levels. Meeting point is the Piazza Grande (Well of Griffins and Lions) where I will tell you a brief history about Montepulciano and the wine Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. We walk to the winery which is set against the medieval church Santa Maria. Today the historical winery is beautifully renovated. The underground wine cellar is found under a church which belonged to a 13th century monastery. We visit the underground wine cellar. The wine cellar is filled with oak barrels used  for the aging of the wine up to two years. When walking through the wine caves we discover a wonderful treasure of an ancient Etruscan Tomb. After our visit to the wine cellar we go to the restaurant for a wine tasting and a delightful lunch. The Wine and Food experience includes: Wine: - Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG - Rosso di Montepulciano DOC - Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG - Dessert wine of Montepulciano Food: - Antipasto consisting of the local meats and cheeses - Primo piatto -pasta dish- specialty of Montepulciano - Dessert wine with almond and chocolate biscuits Buon appetito!
Wine tasting accompanied by homemade food and truffle
Guests will do a tutored tasting of the wines that are produced at Chiesa del Carmine. Wine and olive oil will be matched with our truffle products, homemade focaccia, local meat, cheese and vegetables from our garden. Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements and we will try to accomodate your needs. (I recommend that you should not eat before the tasting!) Walk maps of the valley can be provided upon request and visitors are welcome to stay after the tasting and enjoy a walk around the farm. Aperitivo e degustazione olio in oliveto
Vi proponiamo un aperitivo nel nostro oliveto, a poche centinaia di metri dallo splendido lago di Bolsena. Avrete occasione di passare qualche ora immersi nella natura tra i nostri olivi secolari, veri e propri monumenti naturali del territorio. Vi faremo conoscere la nostra tecnica di coltivazione raccontandovi ogni passo necessario alla produzione del nostro olio EVO "Cisterna31". Faremo poi una degustazione dell'olio, scoprendo i sapori e gli odori caratteristici della cultivar Caninese. Infine, assaggeremo alcuni dei migliori prodotti caratteristici della Tuscia tra cui salumi, formaggi, ortaggi, legumi, pesce di lago, vino e naturalmente pane e olio!
