Botanical and Cultural Trip
Day 1 We will spend three or four days at a time trekking and camping in the pine and rhododendron forests, and then take a rest day at a mountain village, helping the villagers with whatever seasonal tasks they are undertaking and joining in with local life. The local culture is both hospitable and fascinating - we’ll be experiencing it from the inside rather than as a tourist. We will be collecting plants and seeds for Garden in the Himalayas and studying the montane habitat.
Annapurna mountain village trek
Today we leave the Kathmandu Valley behind and Drive to Pokhara [ 7 hours approx ] one of the enchanting places to view the phewa lake and the magnificence of the fish situated in tranquil tail Summit of Mt. Machhapurchhre (6977m) rising behind it create an ambience of peace and magic. The city is situated in the tranquil Valley (827m), is the starting point for many of Nepal’s most trekking and adventure destination. After arriving in Pokhara , we will check in to the hotel and then head out to explore the lakeside and then relax over dinner Other things to note One need to be semi fit to do this trips. Suitable for all age group ( 6-60 years ) Day 2 Starting from Pokhara, you are driven to Galeshwor[ 2 hours] , where you start your trek. Heading up to Bas Kharka, you pass scattered farmhouses, climbing through the forest and then orange groves as you approach this attractive village. You will have time to explore this Magar village, maybe visit the school and healthpost, and in season, enjoy the sweet oranges that grow on the hillsides here. (825m; 3 hours). Other things to note Any allergies to Food or drinks should be informed earlier. Day 3 You head up through the forest to Danda Kaske where you stop for lunch. Overlooking the valleys, this is a get place to meet some of the local people and admire the views. After lunch, it is a leisurely walk on to Nangi, the main village where you will spend the night. Here you can visit the school, see how the villagers make paper from the locally grown plants, visit a medicinal plant nursery, and a number of other income-generating projects. (2,250m; 4-5 hours). We pass through forest and some Villages Day 4 This trek provides a unique and close-up insight into village life in this beautiful area of the Himalayas, close to the magnificent peaks of the Annapurnas, Machhapuchhre, Dhauligiri – some of the highest mountains of the world. Trekking in such pristine and unspoiled area, you are unlikely to meet many other trekkers. Instead, you will meet the local farmers, yak herders and village people in the communities where you will be treated more as a guest than a tourist. Day 5 A fantastic ridge walk, with marvellous views in every direction, We have a steep ascent to get us going and then a more gradual uphill walk takes us to our camp at Ghorepani. We will pass through some delightful villages and the beautiful, dense hododendron forest so characteristic of Nepal at these altitudes! If the weather is clear we will see the stunning views from Ghorepani , making the climb well worth it . At Ghorepani , we are on the main Annapurna Circuit route and there likely to be many travelers passing through the ridges – top settlements in both directions . Ghorepani literally means “Horse water “and is a popular stopping place for the mules trains which ply the route from Pokhara to Jomsom and beyond. The impressive peak, which can be seen across the broad valley of the Kali Gandaki to the northwest, is Dhaulagiri. Other things to note Another moderate day with magnificent view Day 6 Today we trek down from Ghorepani to Ulleri ( 3hours) before you reach Tikhedunga (1 hr). You can either catch up Transportation from Ulleri or Tikhedhunga back to Pokhara. Chitlang Hiking with Kulekhani Indrasarovar Lake
Going through the Chitlang valley, hikers will be visiting Chandragiri Vhaleswor temple (2,551m) which takes around 20 minutes through a stairway walk where one can see the panoramic view of Kathmandu valley and astonishing himalayan ranges of Mt. Annapurna and Mt Everest if weather is clear. Day 01: Day Trip 06:30 AM: Breakfast. 07:00: Drive to Thankot, and start the hike. 10:00: Hike through the forest and have lunch on the way. 15:00: Hike up to Indrasharowvar. 16:00: Drive Back to Kathmandu. Day Trip Day 1:Drive to Thankot and Trek to Chitlang(2300m, 15km,5 hours) Your guide receive you at your hotel and drive to the trekking starting point, Thankot and trek to Chitlang. It is approximately 4 hours hike to Chitlang through jungle via Chandragiri Hills. Upon reaching Chitlang you will have lunch. After lunch enjoy view of Pear garden. After your breakfast in your Hotel or apartment , we drive about 30 minutes to the foothill of Shivapuri National Park. We then start our lovely hike to top of chisapani . Depending upon your fitness , it will take about 4 hours to get to top. On the way through tropical forest , hearing birds chipping , we pass through beautiful trails rich in both floras and faunas. We take break in between before we reach our destination for today ; the beautiful chisapani. This beautiful hill station gives you one of the best view of Himalayan Range on a clear day. Similar its popular for sun rise and sunset Overnight here in best available hotel or tea house watching stars on top or maybe bonfire inside the hotel premise Other things to note This activity is suitable for all age group and one need to be physically fit. Not suitable for disable people Local people can be sensitive. So please do ask before you take picture of them . No drones allow as it protected area. Day 2 After your breakfast in Hotel , we hike downward towards Sundarijal . This again takes about 4 hours depending upon ones fitness level. . We pass through some beautiful villages and terrace farming. We get opportunity to interact with local people and maybe have local lunch at one of these villages. We then reach down to Sundarijal , widely known for the location of Kathmandu drinking water reservoir. With short tea break , we catch up a local bus which takes us to town of Boudha Stupa , one of UNESCO World Heritage site where mostly Buddhist settlement . Have you seen the mesmerising wooden work in Nepals most of the temples and old palaces? Ever wonder what goes behind the process of attaing those refined skills? Now be part of the experience with us in your own private wood carving class. Our class is located nearby Kathmandu durbar square . Our guide will pick you up from the pick location and then you will walk towards the workshop. Our craftman will assist you to mske your own wodden carfted piece which you will return with. You can use it as a souvenir, hanging piece on the wall or a door numberplate. Its a fun class to learn wood carfting and also talk to the local craftman and know about rich wooden culture of Nepal from our host.
Hiker's paradise
After breakfast you will drive out to the edge of the Kathmandu Valley, at Jhule. Here you commence your trek with a good, steady climb up to Nagarkot, well known as a retreat from Kathmandu. From here you have amazing views of the Himalayan Range from the Annapurnas in the west to the Everest region in the east. In addition there is the beautiful rural scenery of terraced fields and traditional farmhouses in the foreground, a sight which is stunning in its own right, even if there was not a huge range of snow peaks in the background! Other things to note All clients need to be physical fit. Not suitable for disabled people. Not suitable for kids below 6 years old. Day 2 Today it’s worth rising early to catch the sunrise over the Himalayas (weather permitting as always) and enjoy your breakfast with this incredible view. When it’s time to hit the trail, you trek out along the ridgeline to the southeast of Nagarkot, passing through community forest, terraced fields and small villages that rely not only on farming and livestock, but also on the forest for their daily needs. You are accompanied by the great Himalayan views throughout the day and your destination of Dhulikhel is equally famous for incredible views, as well as having an old town centre to explore dating from the days this was an important stop on the trading route to Tibet Other things to note all clients needs to be physically fit. Not suitable for disabled people Day 3 Highlight of this trip . as you wake up we experience beautiful sunrise and breakfast with a view. Life is good. Shoulder your pack and head out onto a lovely forested trail which skirts around the hillsides to the little location of Namobuddha. Here you are far, far away from the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu, the main roads and larger towns. This is a Tamang community, people who came from Tibet over 800 years ago and whose name originally meant ‘horse warrior’! There is a beautiful and very sacred Buddhist Stupa here, which commemorates Siddhartha Gautam’s selfless act of offering his body to a hungry tigress, which is said to have contributed to his ability to achieve enlightenment and, ultimately, Buddha-hood. A newly built Tibetan monastery provides a contrast to the Tamang Buddhist tradition and you have the chance to learn more as you can stay either in a beautiful Monastery guest house. Meals with little monks Other things to note All guest should be aware that monastery is a holy place. So one needs to be dressed decently. Permission is needed to take pictures inside the monastery. Tipping some for monastery will be wise Day 4 From Namobuddha we trek to the charming village of Balthali, lying to the south. Today is a day of rural Nepal at its best! From the ridgeline on which the stupa and the monastery lie, you make your way down through fields and orange orchards to the quiet village of Balthali, enjoying a picnic lunch along the way. There is a charming swinging bridge to cross a river and then a hike up into the village though extensive fields planted either with potatoes, wheat or rice depending on the season. You stay in the Balthali resort, a simple but charming affair from where you again have amazing views to the mountains and can enjoy the charm of village life – even though it’s a steep hike back down into the village after you have dropped your pack in the hotel, it’s worth the effort. Other things to note Villagers can be very sensitive. So please do ask the people before taking pictures of them. Day 5 This morning at breakfast you can track your progress on this trek as you can see most of the areas you have trekked so far – a great photo, especially with the mighty Himalayas in the background! Well fuelled for the last day on the trail you set out on a small dirt road which we follow for most of the day. Our trail passes through small villages and terraced fields, all the while with the Himalayas off in the distance. You can rightly wonder that you are so close to Kathmandu, as it really feels a world and a half away! Your trek finishes in the fascinating village of Panauti, once a large and important centre in the old Newar Kingdom of Banepa. The Newars at the ethnic community famous for the old palace complexes in Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur and Panauti was build in similar design and it is fascinating to see how the old centre of town has survived today, even without the UNESCO support seen inside the Kathmandu Valley. It is located on a sacred confluence of two rivers, with a third, invisible river said to meet at this point also and it is the site of a huge mela every 12 years. Nagi Gumba Hiking Trail
Shivapuri Nagi Gumba Hike is a short one day hike near to Kathmandu. The hike walks you through Budanilkantha or Kapan and Shivapuri national park for about an hour. However, you need to drive to the bottom of Shivapuri National park for about forty minutes and start trekking. Nagi Gumba is the Buddhist monastery on the top-hill offering you the wide view of Kathmandu City and occasional Lang tang Himalayas view. Hiking to Shivapuri Nagi Gumba is a mild hike best with friends and family to get off from hustle and bustle of Kathmandu. It starts right off the Budanilkantha Temple. 7 Am in the morning, we are going to drive to Budanilkantha.
