Wildlife hike in Metro Vancouver
We will be exploring a trail along a local blueberry farm in Coquitlam / Port Coquitlam. The hike is 8 kilometers and can take up to 3 hours depending on our pace.
The bears are hibernating until about April! But during late spring and summer, you might see black bears in the blueberry fields and sometimes they even cross the trail right in front of you. I've also seen all kinds of birds, including bald eagles, Kingfisher and blue herons. Turtles, deer, cougar, raccoon and coyotes live here too. I will take high quality professional pictures of my guests during the hike and share them online afterwards.
As much as I want you to see wildlife, I cannot guarantee that we will see any animals. They are a bit unpredictable. After all, they are wild animals! I went on dozens of hikes and showed hundreds of guests the amazing beauty of my "backyard". Every hike is different and we see different animals and scenery. One thing is for sure: It is beautiful! Even in the rain and the scenery is amazing! My guests really like the hike. Read my 100+ great reviews.
Other things to note
I usually take pictures along the way and share them, but you should definitely bring your own camera. It might also become hot and there is no shade or trees to get cover. Come dressed accordingly.

Chinese Steamed Bun Masterclass
Join us for a Chinese Steamed Bun Masterclass + 4-course meal in Vancouver’s False Creek neighbourhood.
The workshop will take place in Sophia’s studio kitchen. During this class, we’ll learn how to make traditional steamed buns. We'll work together to make the dough, roll the wrappers, and make the fillings from scratch. You'll learn how to steam the buns with a traditional bamboo steamer or pan-fry them for crispy buns.
My techniques are learnt and passed down from my family in China and Taiwan. In Taipei, I apprenticed at “Zhu Ji 朱記” a restaurant known for Northern-style buns, noodles, and dumplings. Steamed buns are a perfect example of humble ingredients that are transformed into delicious morsels with effort and time. Food is a love language in Asia and seriously, the best vehicle to bring people together.
You’ll learn how to “read” the dough, and work with different wrapping methods (rabbit-shaped buns!). We'll wrap the workshop with a meal where you’ll be able to enjoy the buns of your labour — served with complimentary dishes, tea and a housemade dipping sauce.
ON THE MENU
Complimentary Nibbles
Pork & Veg Steamed Buns
Sweet Black Sesame Buns
Pickled Garlic Dipping Sauce
Chinese Date, Goji Berry and Chrysanthemum Tea
*The address will be sent to you after check-out.
* Vegetarian options are available, please message in advance.

Then we'll join the protected bikeway towards the world-famous Seawall, passing the Vancouver Convention Centre with views of the North Shore mountains. There will be plenty of stops along the way for storytelling and photo ops.
We'll carry on into Stanley Park to learn about the breathtaking coastal rainforest and First Nations history. We'll cruise uphill with ease through forest trails to the lookout at Prospect Point, then wind our way down through the trails to check out the city's beaches. Riding along False Creek and into Yaletown and Olympic Village, we'll learn about the city's development and architecture. Then we'll explore the historic neighbourhoods of Chinatown and Gastown, before arriving back at the shop Downtown.
Enjoy expert storytelling about the history, ecology, geography and culture of the region in a fun and casual format, all while experiencing the fun of e-bikes and the beautiful views. Leave with local recommendations for restaurants and activities for the rest of your trip.
Other things to note
A minimum of two guests is required for this activity to operate.

Chinatown History & Dumpling Masterclass
Traditional Chinese dumplings with a gourmet twist! We’ll learn how to make authentic Chinese dumplings with Judy, from Historical Chinatown Tours.
First, Judy will give you a 45-min sneak peak of historical Chinatown and then we'll spend 2 hrs learning how to prep, make, and eat dumplings.
This will be a hands-on experience. We'll discuss what makes a good filling, learn how to fold the wrappers and make dumplings, cook them, and eat. By the end of the 3-hour experience, you’ll be an expert!

Explore the Lost Souls of Gastown
Immerse yourself in the chilling dramas of historic Gastown as you venture into Vancouver's earliest and most gruesome history on this 90-minute walking tour. Follow the lamplight of your guide as you discover the terror of a Great Fire that ate up Gastown in minutes, the long forgotten plague of smallpox, and the unsolved murder of John Bray.
Designed for adult audiences, the experience is both a walking tour and a theatre piece. Your guide is a professional actor, performing in character throughout. Every story is grounded in documented Vancouver history, taken from the city archives. The plot line is woven together as the tragic tale of one person's life, ending in a dramatic finale in Gastown's Maple Tree Square.
Every one of Gastown's must-see sites and landmarks is visited on the walk, the oldest hotel, the Gastown Steam Clock, you’ll see how Vancouver looked before and after the Great Fire, explore notorious Gaoler's Mews, and walk down the back alleys of Water Street to famous Maple Tree Square.
Do not expect a ghost tour or conventional walking tour – this is a performance experience that will pull you so deep into the swirling lamplight and darkened alleys of Gastown’s murky past, you may have a hard time finding your way back out…
Hiking with Goats
A guided hike through beautiful lake and mountain scenery, hosted by Pickles and Peanut, French Alpine goat brothers! Their "parents" come too, to ensure you are guided on the less-busy but still human-accessible trails.
On the two hour adventure we will:
- Meet at Grafton Lake parking area next to Grafton Road.
- Start with 10 minutes of intros and "Goat 101" to learn how to safely interact with Peanut and Pickles.
- Walk around the lake.
- Stop at viewpoints along the way, where we'll offer to take photos of you with the goats.
- End back where we started.
Private hike options include:
- Customized trail route such as up to the lookout in our main photo, or to cool natural tree forts!
- Special arrangements for a longer, more challenging hike to the summit of the iconic Mount Gardner.
A few considerations:
Families as well as dogs on leashes are welcome, but please note that Peanut and Pickles are still growing and their headbutt play behaviour may intimidate children and dogs.
You are welcome to request dates, but these will be considered "private hikes".
This adventure is "rain or shine"! The boys look adorable in their rain coats, so (pending a major storm) we'll enjoy whatever mother nature brings our way.
The boys can't wait to show you their beautiful backyard!
