Hopefully we will see wild horses during the riding. Then we Will take the car to the 4700 meters to start a 1 hour hiking to the Shelter. Once up There we can take out our own box lunches and enjoy our submit. Then we will take the way down and return to Quito by 4:30 pm. Around 06:45, we will leave Quito traveling 166 kilometers along the western mountain range where we will take wonderful photos all the way until we reach the lagoon of the Quilotoa volcano. We will pass through a place where we can see the extension of the city from the southeast, continue and go to breakfast (at the cost of tourists), in a restaurant with the best Ecuadorian cuisine on the way to the lagoon of the Quilotoa volcano. After breakfast we will go to the traditional craft market in Saquisilí. We will travel between 1 hour and 1 hour and a half more in the direction of the lagoon, a few kilometers before arriving we will have the opportunity to see the cracks of the west that have a great resemblance to the Grand Canyon in Colorado. Around 06h45, we will leave Quito, we will pass by a site (viewer point) where we can see the extension of the city from the South Eastern part, we will continue and we will go to have breakfast (at tourist cost), in a restaurant with the best Ecuadorian gastronomy on the way to the Baños city. After breakfast we will head towards Salcedo, in this place, we will eat a delicious natural fresh fruit ice cream. Around 10:30 am - 11:00 am we will be arriving in the city of Baños where this great adventure will begin. We will enter the church in the central park to talk about the history, miracles and beliefs that are hidden in this city that sleeps under a volcano. We will walk to a waterfall 10 minutes from the central park, to get the best photos in the city center. We will drive around 20 minutes to the tree house, where the famous swing "at the end of the world" is located, if we have good weather, we can take incredible pictures with the Tungurahua volcano in the background and we will talk a little more about the history of the town. We will go for lunch (at tourist cost) a traditional Ecuadorian meal in one of the best gastronomic places in the city. As soon as you arribe to the farm the horses will be waiting for you. We will star by saddling up the horses and making sure you are confortable with your saddle and horse. We will go on a 2h 30 min ride inside Hacienda San Luis where there is walking and horse only paths, no external vehicles or people are allowed During the ride we will be able to enjoy unique landscapes, birdwatching and good friendly conversation that you can only get over a horseback ride. After the first hour riding we will make a stop and get off our horses to have our picnic which includes wine, salami, cheese and a snack. Then we will star our way back home. As we get home we will take off the saddle of our horses and give theme a treat to thank them for the ride. Guest are welcome to rest in our restaurant or hammocks while I start the grill and prepare a delicious meal. You'll get to choose between 3 different kind of meat for your lunch and a personal soft drink its included. You are welcome to stay afterwards in our restaurant for as long as you want. After making a tour and stopping at this lagoon, we wiil continue our journey to the parking lot under the José Rivas refuge at an altitude of 4700 mols (15,420 ft). We will proceed to climb slowly and with the control of our experienced guide to the José Rivas Refuge, which is 4,864 mols (15,958 ft). This climb will take us about an hour. Adventure in the beautiful Quilotoa Lagoon
We will start picking up all the participants from their location (in case that is farther from the city we will find a meeting point). Our trip will take at least3.5 hours from Quito to Quilotoa community, we can make a stop to take breakfast (in the case that you couldn't make it before we meet) and then continue our trip. On the way, we will see some places and towns until we arrive at the principal indigenous town of Zumbahua, where while we walk around we would see the traditional indigenous market (only on Saturday). Continuing our trip to the Lagoon, once we arrive we prepare all our staff to start our hike, there will be 3 options that you can chose once you see the landscape: 1. Hike surrounding the crater of the volcano (4 to 5 hours) 2. Hike in the regular path and visit the touristic spot (boats, kayaks) (2.5 to 3.5 hours) 3. Hike a non visited path and surround a little part of the lagoon to take the regular path. (2 to 3 hours) When we come back to the start point we will look for a place to have lunch (there are some options) and our trip to Quito will start again. Other things to note - This trip has a least 3.5 hours per way traveling from and to Quito. - There is the possibility to visit a gallery of a family of indigenous painters of the area. - Be prepared with warm clothes, this places is cold and windy, some days rain.
