Next a practice and a play before heading off around our sheltered coastline talking about local history and marine life. Paddling into the secluded bays and caves that can be found on the Pembrokeshire coast is a great experience not to be missed. All our tours are tailored to the group and the weather to maximise enjoyment. Great for couples and groups of friends. Your photo memories are free and included in the cost of the experience. Have a go at making glass beads
Take a look inside a hot glass studio, before getting hands on and learning to make your own glass beads. I offer up to two guests the chance to have a taster session in lampwork glass bead making. After a safety talk, I will guide you through the process and you will get hands on experience at the torch. After learning to make a basic bead, you'll then have the chance to explore different designs, starting with dots, before moving onto more complicated designs such as bubbles and stripes. Working at a speed to suit you, you will each make a minimum of six beads, which I will anneal in my kiln and post to you afterwards. All materials and postage costs included. For all sessions I provide protective eyewear (you will need to bring spectacles for close work if you usually wear them), and leather aprons. Please try to avoid synthetic clothing, and loose flappy sleeves (either short sleeves or long sleeves with a cuff are best). Closed toe shoes need to be worn and long hair must be tied back. Due to the limitation imposed by the space, only the participants may attend and there is no room for anyone else to observe. My studio is up two steps, and so is regrettably not suitable for wheelchair users. You will need to be able to get on and off a chair at worktop height.
