Χτισμένο στην πλαγιά του βουνού Αθέρα με θέα στο απέραντο γαλάζιο του Αιγαίου είναι κτισμένο σε αρμονία με το περιβάλλον. Ο Μαγγανίτης βρίσκεται νοτιοδυτικά της πρωτεύουσας του νησιού, κάτω από τα απότομα τεραστία βράχια του ψηλού Αθέρα, με πολύ πράσινο, πολλές ελιές, πεύκα και άλλα δέντρα.
