The Esopus Cottage is located on quiet, safe, historic, residential neighborhood at the foot of Woodland Valley, near the best hiking and skiing in the Catskills. Walk to the Esopus Creek, 2 blocks away or Main Street, Phoenicia, less than a mile. Hang out in the back yard: make a bonfire, hang out at the tiki bar, nap in the hammock, picnic in the seating areas. We have 3 rentals on the property.

My wife, Alma, and I focus on healthy living, the environment and sustainability. We enjoy the simple pleasures of this culturally-rich community surrounded by the majestic Catskill Forest Preserve.

Every day something in nature delights me: a flock of turkeys, an autumn landscape, the sunset on the Esopus Creek, cukes with sparkling morning dew, the grand constellations. I stop, take in the beauty, and focus on gratitude.

We enjoy helping guests take a break from the hubbub of city life to relax, rejuvenate and reconnect with each other. We worked as professionals in advertising, publishing, environmental organizations, and as consultants for non-profits. We understand the importance of that spur-of-the-moment getaway as a way to find balance between work and play.

We give our guests total privacy. But we help our guests explore our cool and quaint hamlet of Phoenicia and its environs with its many of its hidden treasures through our house guides and "Best Picks." We love sharing this magical place with you and have you fall in love with it as well.
