'Holly Berry' is a cosy holiday hideaway in the picturesque Nottinghamshire village of Wellow. Please note that Holly Berry is only bookable for a maximum of one person. It is equipped with kitchenette (mini-fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster but no oven or hob), shower/washroom, small double sofa bed, mezzanine level with double mattress, wood burning stove, television and private outdoor seating area with bike lock-up. Two village pubs within 100 yards serving home-cooked meals.

Holly Berry is a converted Blacksmith's workshop, originally belonging to Rufford Abbey, in the heart of Sherwood Forest. The mini-cottage is perfect for the solo traveller, offering a safe and private space to relax and unwind. The cottage boasts a log burner (logs supplied) - ideal for relaxing after a day exploring Sherwood Forest. There is a bike rack attached to the wall in the private patio seating area, suitable for storing two bikes. The 800 year old village church, St. Swithins, is located at the bottom of the garden of the main property, and can be seen from the cottage. Thursday night is bell-ringing night - a perfect chance to experience life in an English country village!

I am a self-employed gardener, originating from the Yorkshire Dales, and my husband Martin is a self-employed builder. I have lived in Nottinghamshire for 25 years but often return to the Dales to visit my family. We love anything outdoorsy such as walking, cycling, running and skiing. In fact our honeymoon involved glacier walking in Norway! My holiday heaven would be a cottage, log burner, local pub, country walks and good food.... which is what we've tried to emulate in Holly Berry. Out of interest, my holiday hell would be a Benidorm all inclusive beach holiday... sorry folks!! Being married to a builder has its perks....we moved to our derelict 250 year old cottage in 2014 and spent many months renovating it. Martin then decided to turn his attention to the little old smithy building that was full of cement mixers, tools and years of dust and neglect. Within a matter of months he had converted it into Holly Berry, and the rest is history.....

Holly Berry is totally self contained so interaction with guests is minimal in order to respect your privacy .
Access to the property is gained via a key-safe so guests can check in and out at their convenience. However, we are happy to help whenever necessary, and always supply our guests with a 24 hour contact number.
