The hut is solid, comfortable and warm, fully insulated and double glazed and furnished with quality fittings. Great kitchen and bathroom and bonus private outdoor bath.

It is quiet and private, lots of varied work areas, indoors and outdoors under the extensive verandahs. Good broadband speed @ 70 MBS as well with free nbn wifi.

Lots of native animals, birds, and plants with lovely local walks, with beach, walks, bike and boat rides right outside the front door.

Located in Melukerdee country, we honour the original owners of this land, and we live 12 km south of the quaint, friendly, and historic town of Cygnet, in secluded Kangaroo Bay.

One large, warm and compact room overlooking Kangaroo Bay. Well insulated and double glazed, easily heated and cooled with an efficient and quiet air conditioner, although a super-quiet BigAss ceiling fan is all that is needed for cooling most of the time.

Great user friendly kitchen with gas hob & stove, microwave & dishwasher. Lots of utensils, storage and well-lit preparation & cooking space. Well stocked pantry with fresh ground ethically sourced tea and freshly ground coffee. Plunger and stove top espresso supplied.

The mattress is very comfortable, and the bed is a Murphy bed that can transform into an addition desk if needed during the day. Block out Roman blinds can exclude just about all light and the double glazing gives a remarkable degree of privacy from any outside noise, such as the morning chorus from the birds if required.

Built mainly of recycled materials, with an efficient water recycling system, solar PV on the roof and a Tesla battery, this space promotes sustainability and low impact living, and we encourage as much recycling of waste as possible. We also go to great lengths to recycle water and only use detergents and products that are not detrimental to the environment. The composting toilet is also part of this philosophy, is odourless and very user friendly with no mess or smell, and uses no water.

Good NBN wireless broadband, averages 70 Mbs. Please note though that mobile reception is marginal for Telstra and almost non-existent for Optus, though the short walk to Minnie Point, 200 m away will give you 4 bars of coverage for either.

Lots of cosy workspaces, inside and out under the extensive verandahs, especially the sheltered and sunny rear deck verandah., as well as the large desk which the bed can transform into, giving a lot more floor space if needed.

Quiet, secluded, warm & comfortable, great holiday or workspace accommodation. The property is surrounded by bushland and there are many birds and animals in the garden area, a birdwatchers delight, and the nightly parade of small marsupials is always a delight.

Chris is a keen sailor, and is more than happy to take people out for a sail on Fleetwing, a 31 foot Farrier trimaran. The boat is moored 100 metres away in Kangaroo Bay and can be off sailing in about 10 minutes.

We live in a secluded bay, with a quiet gravel road that winds around to Egg & Bacon Bay or Mickeys and Randalls Bays. There are many walks to be had including the Mt Echo walk at Randalls Bay. There is a very pleasant short walk right outside the front door through banksia, ti-tree and peppermint eucalypt to Minnie Point, where great views of Port Cygnet and Beaupre Point can be seen over the Huon River.

Abels Bay Road winds past our little place and wanders all along the waterfront, past Egg & Bacon Bay, to Randalls Bay. Beautiful bays fine for swimming or walking and with lots of walks between. It's all pretty flat along the road - excellent for relaxed walking or cycling.

Cygnet has lots of food attractions such as the Cannery, the Port Hole, the famous Red Velvet Lounge, the Lovett Cafe and Jackie’s Cafe. There are wineries and world class foodie attractions like Matthew Evan’s Fat Pig Farm. Cygnet produces lots of fantastic food s and new businesses are starting up all the time. Every second Sunday there is a farmers market as well, with bountiful locally grown produce.

We live next door, can greet guests, are happy to help make our guests stays comfortable and memorable and can assist with ensuring the place is stocked. We do wish to respect your privacy and if we appear aloof it is out of that respect. We are very keen to assist you having a great and relaxing stay.

Our five chickens; Soula, Doula, Ruler, Charlotte and Becky are far more insistent on meeting our guests and will take advantage of any open doors to come in and say hallo. They will also readily assume that any open car doors are also an invitation for them to check out your car. You will enjoy their wonderful free range eggs. They will also happily enjoy any food scraps, but the plentiful local marsupials should only be given vegetable or fruit scraps, feeding them processed food such as bread can be harmful to them.

Chris is a keen sailor and if weather permits is more than happily to take people out for a sail on Fleetwing, anchored just out in the bay.
