Built in accordance with local methods guest house (kasbah) offers authenticity and comfort during hot summers and cold winters.
The house has three rooms and all other important facilities you need for comfortable stay before you head on to your next stop in the dessert (hot shower, wi-fi, washing machine, terrace).
House is run by me, Mohamed from nomad family. You will be able to explore more about our local life, nomadic family culture, desert nature, milky way, camels and more.

My guesthouse is located at the end of the village, right before the Sahara dessert. From the terrace you can have a nice view on the surrounding buildings and nature. The house is situated in a very peaceful and safe area.
House has an interior garden, three guest rooms, kitchen, hamam, shared and private wc and shower.

I am also offering other activities where you can explore the area:
- night stay in the dessert camp around Mhamid (dunes) - camel ride
- night stay in the Erg chegaga (big dunes) - jeep 4x4
You can experience camping with nomads, sand boarding, quad bike ride and sleeping under the stars.

About my village:
M’hamid El Ghizlane is the last village before the vast expanses of the Sahara, is a rural municipality of the Zagora province, in the southern Drâa – Tafilalet region. It is located at the end of the N9 road, after Tamegroute, Tagounite.

An ancient cultural crossroads – its territory used to be a stop for trans-Saharan traders – M’hamid El Ghizlane is part of a nomadic area. With its little adobe shacks made of mud or clay bricks, the little ochre village seems to come right out of sand.
M’hamid El Ghizlane is sheltered in a palm grove stretching for 16 km along the river Drâa (oued Drâa). On one of the banks is M’hamid Bali, the old town, which holds an important kasbah. On the other side, M’hamid Jdid, the new village, offers essential facilities: groceries, craft shops, cafés, restaurants, family hotels, tourist agencies …

Every Monday there is a lokal market where all nomads arrive to the city. It is a great opportunity to see the famous « blue men », desert camel-herders,and to buy local products, bathed in the colors and fragrances of these goods.

M’hamid El Ghizlane has established itself as the main departure point for desert excursions, particularly to the dunes of Erg Lehoudi and Erg Chegaga erg ezahar ...

I am Mohamed a native nomad (aziz)
. I was born in centre of Sahara, in a popular settlement desert deeper, of course my exact date of birth is unknown as most of people who were born in desert. The first years of my life were spent in Sahara conducting the innocencent nomadic lifestyle along with my parents. One day I had to abandon my lifestyle to come with my parents to settle down in the village of M'hamid Alghizlan due to borders issues between Morocco and Algeria.
I still live in the village now, close to my family and my roots. I want to keep this privileged link that I have with the desert.
I love welcome people and listen their stories. I have hosted people for 3 years. I feel grateful for all I have learnt and what people who cross my way taught me during this experience.
I am open minded and respectful.
