We are so excited to invite you into our home. This private studio guest suite is a perfect escape. Decorated in bright, calming colors, we designed with relaxation in mind. It has a stocked kitchen and bathroom for your sole use. In the summer months, we have a beautiful deck for you to enjoy a morning coffee or evening glass of wine/local beer. Across the street is Goodhue Park so, even though our home is near bustling Forest Avenue and Castelton Avenue, it feels like you are in the country.

Welcome to our house on a hill. As you ascend the stairs, take in the view of the beautiful park across the street. Continue to the side of the house to your own, private entrance with a keypad entry. This allows for total privacy and flexible check-in/out if no one is coming after you. Feel free to let us know if you would like to arrive early or leave late and we will do our best to accommodate you.

This open concept studio basement apartment feels light and airy. There is a queen sized bed and sofa bed with storage for extra blankets and pillows. The lamps and Bluetooth alarm clock have USB plugins so charging your devices is easy. Enjoy watching your favorite TV shows and movies on our smart tv with built in Amazon Fire. We have stocked the cabinets with the basics including breakfast items, snacks and other items should you get hungry. The bathroom has essential toiletries, a hair drier and a first aid kit. There is ample storage for your clothes in the double closets.The free wifi is strong and should be simple to connect to (wifi password on our guidebook).

We are close to 3 bus lines that get you to the ferry in 10-15 minutes, depending on the time of day (my husband got there in 7 minutes the other morning!!!!). Bus options to the ferry are the 46, 96, 48, and 42. Back from the ferry are the same buses. Get the MTA app for up to date bus arrival times. You can use your smart wallet to pay for all public transportation in NYC or purchase a metro card at any subway terminal. Coming in June 2021, the fast ferry will take you to the west side of Manhattan (two stops, one downtown and one midtown) in 35 minutes and will cost $2.75.

Silver Lake Park is just two blocks away and is perfect for a stroll, run or picnic.

There's a deli and bagel shop one block away as well as a laundromat. Close by are Castleton Ave. and Forest Ave. with great restaurants, bars and shopping.

We feel that up to three guests will be comfortable in the space but it can accommodate up to four, with two people sharing each bed.

We live upstairs in the main part of the house so you might hear some footsteps. But we are pretty quiet folks.

MEDICAL STUDENTS: We are within walking distance to RUMC! Contact us about the possibility of an extended stay during your residency.

*Please do not contact us asking to host your party in our home. The answer will be NO!

**PLEASE BE AWARE, THERE IS POSSIBLE CONSTRUCTION HAPPENING IN CLOSE PROXIMITY TO OUR HOME. WE DO NOT KNOW WHEN THIS WILL BEGIN OR ANY OTHER DETAILS. We are working to learn more about what this will entail and will update here when we know more. But please note that there might be noise during legal working hours, 7:00am-6:00pm.

We are located in New Brighton on the trendy North Shore of Staten Island. We are only a short distance from the amazing restaurants on Forest Avenue or Bay Street. We are about a 15 minute walk or quick drive from Snug Harbor Cultural Center and a 10-15 minute bus ride from the ferry. We live across the street from Goodhue park and two blocks from beautiful Silver Lake Park. In our guest guide, I've recommended some of my favorite spots for food and touring but feel free to ask me for suggestions.

I am a theatre teaching artist and a mom. My husband is a pastry chef. We live with our son who is the most loving little boy in the world. We love to travel and eat our way through each destination. We love staying in people's homes because it gives us a sense of the local flavor. Our favorite destinations so far have been Thailand, Cappadocia and Budapest.

As hosts, we love meeting people from all over the world who want to experience NYC. Our guest suite is filled with amenities we loved or wish we had when staying at other airbnbs. We believe that our city should be accessible to all, not just those who can pay $400 a night for a mediocre hotel room. We know that staying in Staten Island gives our guests a unique opportunity to experience a part of NYC that most people pass up and we love giving pointers on things to do.
