A quiet place where everybody in St. Monans and the neighbouring villages smiles and says a cheery "hiya". You can smell the sea from the front and backdoor and it's seagulls, waves or the occasional seal that you will hear rather than car engines.

Hi,

I'm James. Welcome to the East Neuk of Fife.

I'm 44 and have been lucky enough to live, work and study in France, Germany, Malaysia and Turkey. At the latest count I think countries visited had just about overtaken years on the planet.

I work away for most of the year, but on my travels I have experienced many wonderful places and people. Yet, it's always the East Neuk I long to come back to.

I understand what it's like to be on the road for long periods and to visit places for rest and relaxation, and believes this gives me the best idea of what a guest wants - a home from home.

In my spare time I enjoy learning foreign languages, reading, country pubs, walking, cooking and lately -Netflix...but I'm working on that one.
