This Catskills farmhouse has been gently updated and retains its original features and charm. Beautiful old apple trees embrace the side yard giving the cottage its name. Privacy and serenity are the essences of Applewood Cottage. Situated high in the hills it catches every breeze and remains cool in the hottest weather.

The cottage is two stories with a large open airy living space downstairs - essentially two large rooms. The relaxing area has a large comfortable couch easy to curl up in and read a book, contemplate the day or just take a nap on. For chilly nights there is a lovely laid stone fireplace with conveniently placed wood, which could be the highlight of a romantic evening. Sip a glass of wine in front of the crackling fire.

The dining area seats 2-4 but can easily seat more. It is made up of an old farm house table and two church pews. There are other chairs which can be used for table seating.

The piano room, although part of the open floor plan, has a feeling of privacy. It has a baby grand piano and a comfortable day bed. If you play the piano please do and hold a sing along with friends or family.

Upstairs are two light-filled cheery bedrooms. Both bedrooms have double beds. From the windows you can see far across the valley below. The bathroom is situated on the second floor and has the original claw foot tub - which is divine for bubble baths - and a pedestal sink.

The kitchen is well appointed having enough pots, pans and bakeware to prepare a feast fit for royalty. For your use there is a professional juicer, ice-cream maker, cookbooks, microwave, coffee maker and mixers. The kitchen has an electric stove and miles of counter space. The refrigerator is full size. There is no dishwasher.

The back porch is screened-in and comfortable. Have dinner on the porch one night, or enjoy an early cup of coffee while listening to the birds greet the day. There is a table and chairs for your dining pleasure. Just outside of the porch is a barbecue area with a grill and additional table and seating.

Cell service is great in this location; always four bars. There is internet service, WiFi and a Roku player so you can stream movies, check your email and post your new adventures on social media.

For your use is a flat screen TV and DVD player. Feel free to bring your favorite DVDs or explore our library of movies, should you decide to have a movie night.

Three cars can be comfortably parked in the driveway - with the front door only a few steps away making unloading and loading of cars and groceries very easy.

Guests have access to the entire living space and grounds, which includes a sunny porch to take in the rolling hills, a patio with table, chairs and barbecue grill and a fire ring to toast marshmallows! The basement and one closet are for the owner's possessions and will be labeled as "Private - No Access".

This beautiful area has something for everyone. It is rare to find so much in one place.

This is where the WOODSTOCK FESTIVAL took place. Many love to have their picture taken at the memorial, The Woodstock Museum and Bethel Woods Center for the Arts are also there, with A-list concerts held weekly through the summer months. Check out their webpage for a full list of concerts and activities, many people love to go for the tailgate parties before the concerts.

MICROBREWERIES, VINTERS, and DISTILLERIES all make their home in the western end of the county. It is easy and fun to set up your own local BREW TRAIL. Roscoe - just a short drive away is the home of Bootlegger Vodka and near the Woodstock site, Peace Vodka is created.

This area is a TREASURE seekers dream. Quaint shops with UNIQUE items and ANTIQUE stores are in every nearby town. During the summer and fall weekends there are yard-sales literally everywhere. Estate Auctions are held almost weekly.

RESTAURANTS are many and all are close by; from upscale restaurants to diner food. Anything from ostrich steaks, to eggs on a hard roll - which can be purchased at the local supermarkets.

For HISTORY BUFFS it is only a short drive to the Woodstock museum, Fort Delaware, the Roebling Bridge, Stone Arch Park, Zane Grey Museum and many other places of interest. Each small town is like stepping back in time with many original buildings and Victorian architecture.

For those who love to FISH, Roscoe aka Trout Town USA is a short drive away, so is the Delaware River and the East Branch of the Delaware. There are dedicated fishing sites along the local creeks which you will pass on your way to the cottage. A fishing license can be purchased at any sporting goods store.

For WATER SPORTS, canoes, rafts, tubes and kayaks can be rented anywhere along the Delaware. Skinner's Falls is a favorite place to swim and hang out for memorable day of sun and water fun. Bring a picnic and dine alfresco at the river. DOGS have a great time there also.

For GAMBLING and HORSE-RACING, the historic Monticello Raceway and Casino is a 40 min drive.

Applewood Cottage is in the hamlet of Fremont Center, in the township of Callicoon - a short 20 minute drive to Bethel Woods, 7 miles to the town of Callicoon with fine dining, a restored art deco movie theater, large Farmers’ Market on Sundays, supermarket and laundromat. The Delaware River is accessible from Callicoon with canoe, rafts and tube rentals. Jeffersonville is 10 miles away, with shops and restaurants. Narrowsburg, an art community, Barryville, Honesdale, Liberty, Hancock, Monticello and Livingston Manor are also close by. Enjoy a hike or swim in Sullivan County's many parks and lakes. There are ski resorts within 45 min.
