Wonderful spacious, modern cottage with all the tropical Hawaii charm located on a 1 1/2 acre macadamia nut farm near Hawi Town.You will love the large open living area with high ceilings, bamboo floor and tasteful decor. Enjoy cooking in the fully equipped kitchen with craftsman made cabinets, granite counter tops and gas cooktop in kitchen island. The Cottage has a 200 sq ft lanai with two daybeds for lazing around and enjoying the garden as well as a BBQ for your outdoor entertaining.
You will enjoy this beautiful retreat away from the hassle and bustle, yet only one mile above historic Hawi town and 10 minutes from North Kohala’s Beach Parks. A great place to rejuvenate, meditate and enjoy that off the beaten track old Hawaii feel.
We are nestled in a 1 1/2 acres macadamia nut orchard and there is a lovely, tropical garden around the cottage. This is a hosted rental. We live on the same property, both buildings have total privacy from each other.

Hawi area Info: Our cottage is located one mile above Hawi town in historical North Kohala - this is still wonderful “Old Hawaii” an off the ' beaten track' unique are. We are minutes from Kapaa, Mahukona and Keokea state beach parks as well as the black sand beach and hiking of Pololu Valley . You can easily take advantage of these parks and hiking trails, or you may want to have fun on an ATV Tour, Horseback Ride or a Zipline Adventure. There are also plenty of ”casual to gourmet “dining choices in town, plus a grocery store- Takata Store, Kohala Grown Farm Store and farmers market with locally grown , organic produce if you choose to cook.
There is a 9 hole golf course with driving range ( only $12 to play with great Maui views), a pool and tennis courts in Kapaau town about 2 miles from the house.
Hawi Town has the Kohala Coffee Mill for Breakfast and lunch or a Tropical Dreams ice cream treats. Elements Jewelery store across the street offers a great selection of unique gifts and ' As Hawi Turns 'clothing and gift shop next door is also a 'must see'.
Don't miss the well known Bamboo Restaurant for lunch and Mi Ranchito Mexican food..

There are some nice places for lunch in Kapaau l: enjoy the food at Gill's Lanai , Minnie's, Pomaika'i Courtyard Cafe , The Kings View Cafe' , Chaba's Joy Cafe and L&L BBQ..
There is much more, you will just have to go out and explore.......enjoy!

We welcome guests from all walks of life.
Here is a little about me: from a young age I have loved travel, adventure, cooking and creating beauty. That has evolved into a love for hosting travelers and making them feel at home here in Hawaii while I still get to follow my passion and travel the world whenever I can. My husband and I have been hosting guests on the Big Island for over 12 years .
We settled in Hawaii after we sailed here from the South Pacific 20+years ago and the Island welcomed us so much that we are still here today! We love to travel and explore new places preferably from a nice , home-like base. We used our travel experiences to create a welcoming home away from home for you.
We are cabinet makers by trade and have included our expertise as well as our love for detail and beauty into our home.
We love local food and gourmet cooking so our kitchen is very well equipped .
We support sustainability- we have solar power ( with electric back up), we compost and recycle, we have herbs, nuts and fruit in our garden .
As part of our spiritual search we traveled and lived in India .
We love this community we have in Hawi. It is laid back, rural and real. People know and care about each other here ! This is a beautiful, lush and tropical region of the Big Island and we take pleasure in living in North Kohala.
We are very independent travelers and like to have our space when we stay somewhere. At the same time we do enjoy meeting new friends and other cultures. We apply the same motto to our guests.
