To help protect our community during COVID-19, we’re prohibiting one-night stays in entire home listings in the US and Canada this Halloween weekend. We hope taking this step will help prevent large gatherings that violate our Party and Events Policy and pose a risk to public health.

Limitations for one-night stays in the US and Canada Oct 30 and 31

For entire home listings in the US and Canada, guests will be unable to book one-night stays for Friday, October 30 and Saturday October 31, 2020. Guests may choose to book a listing that’s not an entire place for one-night stays on these dates instead.

Previously made reservations have been canceled

Any previously-booked one-night stays for entire place listings Friday, October 30 or Saturday October 31 in the US or Canada have been canceled.

For affected hosts

Hosts will be reimbursed by Airbnb by the end of October. This payout will appear as a Misc Credit in your Transaction History.

For affected guests

Guests will receive a full refund, as well as a coupon code for 10% of your canceled reservation’s total, from $20 up to $200.

It is valid towards a stay or experience reservation you make on Airbnb. This coupon is not redeemable for cash or gift cards, or toward previous purchases, and cannot be transferred or combined with another offer, coupon, or discount. Airbnb reserves the right to any remedy, including voiding this coupon, in cases of suspected fraud, misuse violation of our Terms of Service or Payments Terms of Service, or technical errors.

Safety is our priority

The majority of guests are respectful of our hosts’ homes and neighbors, and we understand that preventing one-night stays will disrupt many reservations that might not have led to parties. In light of the unique challenge posed by COVID-19, we took this step to help protect hosts and the communities they call home.
