Tour & Tasting of a Cider farm
The Cider Farm Tour and Tasting begins in the Tasting Room with a sample of excellent organic apple juice, and an introduction to the Cider Farm family. We venture into the orchard of 3000 West Country cider apples. You discover some of the fascinating history and folklore behind cider and experience a surprise 'Wassail' or orchard blessing. Bees are important to us and we tell about their role in pollination, chemical free farming and wildlife. I explain how we craft our British Champion Ciders over 8 months from sun ripened apple to crisp, golden nectar in a glass. With a behind the scenes tour of apple pressing, harvesting and bottling equipment, you can see how see we press the apples and produce the ciders. We encourage guests to ask us questions about the art of blending and the alchemy of turning apple into award winning, amber-gold cider. The Tour is completed with a sampling of 4 delicious, handcrafted ciders, all made from organically grown cider apples, from Sweet Maiden cider, Old Harry Rocks vintage, Dorset Wild Cat, to our Elderflower, Ginger or Damson ciders. After the tour, you can relax in the Cider Garden, admire the art. Please dress according to the weather with appropriate footwear and coat, as we take you for a walking tour of our orchards.

Brixham and Berry Head photography walk with expert tuition
I will take you on a photography walk around Brixham and to Berry Head, a site of special scientific interest. I will teach you to use your digital camera creatively and improve your photography. There are a choice of beautiful walks in Brixham, through the town, which have some interesting buildings and pretty views. You can be a beginner or have some knowledge. Brixham was two separate communities with only a marshy lane to connect them. Cowtown was the area on top of the hill where the farmers lived, while a mile away in the harbour was Fishtown where the seamen lived. The town holds a yearly pirate event which competes for the title of most pirates in one place and this draws visitors from far and wide. The street names reflect the town's history. Pump Street is where the village pump stood. Monksbridge was a bridge built by the monks of Totnes Priory. Lichfield Drive was the route that the dead (from the Old English 'lich' meaning a corpse) were taken for burial at St Mary’s.

Dartmoor Whisky & Gin Tasting Experience
Dartmoor Whisky Distillery invites you to come and visit Devon’s only whisky distillery and learn how single malt whisky is made, from barley field to nosing glass in our Whisky & Gin Tasting Experience. This tasting experience is the perfect afternoon activity for any whisky or gin lover, a group of friends or family visiting the area, a birthday or celebration, or would make an amazing gift any time of the year.
You will join our family on the farm, meet our newborn lambs, check the pregnant ewes and learn a bit about what happens when a sheep gives birth. We will also visit any orphan lambs, give them lots of love and cuddles. If a lamb happens to be born during your visit (this can’t be guaranteed for obvious reasons), you and your group will be able to quietly watch what goes on while Tamsyn or Gordon talk you through the process. You may also be able to help with day to day tasks on the farm such as bedding up, building pens and feeding livestock. Lambing is such a joyful, happy and tiring time on the farm. However, please be aware that this is a real life experience. Although we do everything within our power to ensure that all births go well and healthy lambs are born, the reality is that this is not always possible. Unfortunately, at times there is sadness and loss.

Exhilarating Exmoor-Valley of The Rocks
The National Park of Exmoor has a long and dramatic coastline fronting the Bristol Channel. Tall cliffs, craggy coasts and bracken covered moorland have been famous for hundreds of years. We walk in the steps of authors like George Elliot (Mary Ann Evans), Charles Kingsley, Beatrix Potter, Henry Williamson and will be in Lorna Doone country throughout. These artists also included Percy Shelley, his wife Mary and Lord Byron. Quickly we will be in the midst of folklore, legend, wild tales and be inspired, as they were, by the rough natural landscapes and pretty villages, often said to reflect the European tourists impression of Switzerland. This wild and glaciated landscape, torn by tumultuous, fast-flowing rivers, has been partly civilised by the beautiful historic villages of Lynmouth and Lynton which provide all a weary traveller needs and much besides. Tea shops and Art Galleries abound! The villages are only 500ft/150m apart but that distance is vertical! So, when it is operating, we will see the water powered cable car. Built in 1888, to carry people up to the level of Lynton and a coastal walk onwards to The Valley of the Rocks, a most famous Victorian tourist spectacle. Here, granite, among the hardest of rocks, was torn by ice and shredded. The Valley is abruptly ended by the entirely natural but strangely man made looking Castle Rock with its mysterious White Lady.
Visit a thatched historic microbrewery
Take a peak behind the scenes at the only thatched micro-brewery in England. Located in rural mid-Devon with stunning views out towards Dartmoor, this brewery tour combines a love of traditional English ales with a celebration of England's spectacular historic environment. You'll get to see the historic 17th Century thatched farm buildings, built from cob and stone and Grade II* listed with Historic England, and the medieval well head where our unique spring water bubbles up from deep underground. Then we'll head into the brewery where I will show you how traditional English ales are made, the equipment used and the key ingredients. Finally, we'll move into the tap room where you'll get to taste the end product. Message me if you would like to arrange a tour for any day not listed - I'm pretty flexible!
Horse & Carriage Experience in North Devon
Come and meet our draught horses, Albert, George, Joey, and Bella and take an immersive trip back in time to a calmer, slower age while learning a little about the glory of working horses at our traditional horse powered farm. We start in the horse barn & encourage guests to interact with our wonderful horses, but if you prefer you can watch from a distance. Learn a little about the horses and their harness before we hitch up & climb aboard the carriage to begin your trip back in time through the peaceful countryside surrounding our farm. For two guests we use one horse, but for more than two we use a pair of horses to ensure that the load is an easy one. The welfare of our horses is very important to us & we are proud of their turnout & condition. Our carriage is comfortable but open to the elements so it can be cold, make sure you bring warm, weatherproof clothing. You are welcome to take photographs at any time during the experience. During the ride I will normally share some local farming practices, history, & give you some insights into our way of life, but if you want peace & quiet we can do that to! We can often adjust timings & numbers to suit your party. Our hay wagon can accommodate up to 15 people in a private group. We hope you leave us with a real sense of the nobility our horses & of having travelled back in time in our horse powered time machine!
